Gonzalez Wedding | Avonley Homestead, Shelbyville, KY
There are weddings that stick with you long after the day is over, and this one definitely will for me. From the moment I arrived, I could feel how much love and excitement was in the air, and honestly, it made photographing their day such a joy.
We started with details, and I have to say — their flowers were some of my favorites. The bouquet was such a fun mix of textures with fluffy pampas grass, soft peach roses, daisies, and those gorgeous anemones with the blue centers. And the venue was decorated with pale greens and gold accents. It felt so personal and unique to them.
Then came one of my favorite parts of the day: their first looks, they shared the sweetest embrace. You could just see the nerves melt away as soon as they were in each other’s arms. I love capturing those quiet moments before the big celebration — they’re so raw and real.
And then the ceremony… oh my goodness. As the bride walked down the aisle, the groom completely broke down in tears. You could tell he had been holding it together, but the second he saw her walk down the aisle, the emotions just took over. It’s those little reminders of why I love what I do — getting to freeze those fleeting, once-in-a-lifetime reactions.
What made the day even more special was the overwhelming love from their friends and family. Everywhere I looked, there were happy tears, big smiles, and tight hugs being shared. Their people showed up not just to witness a wedding, but to truly celebrate alongside them, and you could feel how supported and cherished this couple is.
As an outsider stepping into such an intimate and emotional day, it was such an honor to be trusted to capture it all. I don’t take lightly the privilege of documenting these once-in-a-lifetime memories, and being surrounded by so much love and joy made the experience even more meaningful.
Their whole day was such a beautiful mix of rustic charm, thought out touches, and pure love. It was an honor to document it all, and I know these memories will be cherished for years to come.
